Sports Betting with Bitcoin

Sports Betting with Bitcoin - Betballer Review

BetBaller is a relatively new gambling site that supports bitcoin betting. It’s not something that you can quickly dismiss as one of those new online casinos that quickly vanish into oblivion. With BetBaller, the effort in creating and promoting the site is apparent. It’s not just some run-of-the-mill site created to attract gullible online gambling enthusiasts who willingly lose their bitcoins or fiat currency online.

BetBaller offers a good number of online gambling options, particularly when it comes to bitcoin betting. It has a sportsbook, which includes in-play betting and e-sports. It also offers a decent collection of slot games. Additionally, it has live casino games. Since the emphasis of this BetBaller review is bitcoin betting, we can say that the site can be a great option for bitcoin live dealer games, sports betting, and bitcoin slots or reels.

Account Registration

BetBaller’s account registration form is rather long or it requires more information as compared to the bitcoin betting casinos we have been accustomed to. It asks for your first and last names, birthdate, address, email address, and an additional set of details (address, phone number, and email address) to be used when you need to recover your password.
Despite the relatively long registration form, signing up for account shouldn’t take more than a minute, especially if you chocose bitcoin (BTC) as your currency. The registration form, under the Private Data column, has a dropdown list for currency options. Bitcoin is the bottommost option. Once you select bitcoin, the form is instantly reduced to a shorter version. This shorter form will only ask you for your username, password, currency, birthdate, and email address. You should be able to complete this form in around 15 seconds.

Account Dashboard – Don’t Expect Anonymity Unless You Only Play with Bitcoins

The BetBaller account dashboard comes with all of the basic functions you would expect in a good online casino. It has a section for the profile which, unfortunately, does not allow you to edit the details you have entered during the registration process. If you entered false details as you registered for your account, it would be best to immediately contact BetBaller’s support team to have the necessary changes. Submitting false or misleading account information is considered a violation of the BetBaller Terms and Conditions and can lead to the termination of your account and the forfeiture of the balance therein.
Anyway, the account dashboard also comes with an Account Verification section. This is where you will be uploading your proofs of identity to have your account verified. This should serve as a hint that you can’t expect anonymity with BetBaller. The site may not share player information to third parties but it requires you to verify your account and will ask for more personal details when you make withdrawals amounting to 2,300 EUR or more.

UPDATE: BetBaller contacted us to clarify that bitcoin betting equates to anonymity. No further information will be asked from you if you only play with bitcoins on the site. In effect, account verification will no longer be required so you no longer have to submit proofs of identity to be able to do crucial activities like making withdrawals.

The Games on BetBaller

The online gambling options on BetBaller are grouped or presented in the following tabs: Sport, In-Play, ESports, Slots, and Live Casino.
The Sport tab is similar to what most other sportsbooks offer. There’s the list of sports on the left column, the sports event details in the center, and the betting slip on the right. The sports covered are soccer, basketball, e-sports, tennis, football, baseball, mixed martial arts, boxing, rugby, and volleyball.
You can switch to six different betting odd formats: American, Decimal, Fractional, Hongkong, Indonesian, and Malay.
BetBaller Sports Betting
The In-Play section can be compared to the bitcoin live dealer games in bitcoin casinos. It’s all about making bets on ongoing or live games. The sports covered are similar to that of the Sport betting section.
The ESports tab, on the other hand, actually offers the same options already listed under the Sport tab.
For the Slots tab, there are 34 games available. These include 5-payline to 50-payline slot games. All of the games have their respective Play for Real and Demo options. Game loading time is on the relatively slow side but this is compensated for by the great graphics. The games are not in fullscreen by default but there’s an option to make them go fullscreen.
BetBaller Slots
Lastly, for the Live Casino tab, there are a total of 10 games to play, grouped in different regions. There are 4 games (roulette, baccarat, blackjack, keno/lottery) in the Latin America region, 2 for Asia (roulette and baccarat), 2 for Europe (roulette and baccarat), 1 for the Baltics (blackjack), and 1 live roulette game for an unspecified region.

BetBaller Game Software and Fairness

The games on BetBaller are from SoftSwiss and Endorphina. They are not provably fair but considering the reputation of these online casino software providers, we are not keen on making an issue out of this. BetBaller guarantees that it uses a fair random number generator to determine the results of the casino games on the site.

BetBaller Is Mobile-Friendly

BetBaller has a mobile-friendly website. The site makes use of a responsive web design and also has a specialized user interface for mobile devices. If you are unable to switch to the mobile-friendly user interface, just go to the bottom part of the site to click on the Mobile Version link.
We noticed, though, that when switching to the mobile interface, the slots and live casino games disappear. It seems only the sports betting section works on mobile devices. We tried using the desktop interface on mobile (there’s a Desktop Version link on the lower right corner of the site) and accessing the slot games. The games work on devices that support Flash and with a resolution of at least 720p. The slot and live casino games have fixed sizes. They don’t adjust to the display size of a mobile device. You might be able to play the game but you would have to zoom out to see the entirety of the game’s interface.
BetBaller Is Mobile Friendly
Taking all of these into account, we can still say that BetBaller can be considered a bitcoin mobile casino. We are hoping, though, that the slot and casino games can soon be made available in the mobile version.
By the way, BetBaller is a completely web-based online casino. There is no need to download anything. All you need is a mobile browser that supports Flash. Also, there are no Android, iOS, or Windows app for playing the games on mobile devices.

Currencies

As shown in the dropdown currency list on the BetBaller registration form, there are 7 currencies used on the site. These are Chinese yuan (CNY), euro (EUR), Turkish lira (TRY), Russian ruble (RUB), Canadian dollar (CAD), US dollar (USD), and of bitcoins (BTC).
If you choose bitcoin as your currency, the amounts will be expressed in mBTC or 1/1000 of a bitcoin.
Like most other online casinos, you need to make deposits to be able to play on BetBaller. Deposits can be made through credit cards, Skrill, Sofort, PaysafeCard, Qiwi, Yandex, Moneta.ru, and bitcoin. All deposit methods are expected to be completed instantly. They also share the same minimum deposit requirements and don’t come with service fees. Except for the credit cards which have a maximum deposit limit of 6,000 EUR, there is no maximum deposit limit for the other deposit methods mentioned here.
BetBaller Currency
For withdrawals, there are also different options to choose from. These include bitcoins and Skrill. Bitcoin withdrawals are free of charge but Skrill withdrawals come with a 2% fee.
If you chose to use bitcoins for your currency, you will only be shown the bitcoin withdrawal option. Bitcoin withdrawals are made from wallet to wallet. You will be shown a form where you will have to enter the amount you want to withdraw, your bitcoin address, and your password.

Bonuses, Promotions, and Affiliate Program

There are only two major bonuses and promotions offered on BetBaller. They are as follows:
BetBaller Bonuses and Promotions
  • 100% First Deposit Bonus of up to 50 USD/EUR. This deposit bonus will be credited to your balance after you complete your first deposit. It requires a minimum deposit amount of 10 USD/EUR. You need to use the code FREEBET to avail of this bonus. The wagering requirement is 5x of the sum of the deposit and bonus or 10x of the deposit you make.
  • VIP Deposit Bonus. This is a bonus granted by the BetBaller management in certain situations. You will get an email if this bonus is available to you. We can consider this as somewhat the equivalent of the VIP programs and rewards offered by other online casinos. Wagering requirement for this bonus is similar to that of the First Deposit Bonus.
We did not find other bonuses and promotions on BetBaller. There is no reload bonus offered. There are also no deposit bonus offers on the site. However, the site has an affiliate program that pays 22%-30% (of the net revenue earned by BetBaller from the player referred) in commissions on the sportsbook and 30%-40% on the casino games. Commissions are earned and paid on a monthly basis.

Country Restrictions, and Site Languages

BetBaller does not have a list of restricted countries but at the time we did this BetBaller review, its Terms and Conditions and Anti-Money Laundering pages clearly state that the site does not accept players from countries where online gambling is deemed illegal. The United States is specifically mentioned as an example of a country where online gambling is illegal. BetBaller says that it will cancel accounts of players from the United States and other countries where online gambling is prohibited.
However, we learned later on as we did this review that players from the United States may get an account and play provided that they only exclusively use bitcoins. As such, we are still inclined to consider BetBaller as a US-accepted bitcoin casino.
As a gambling site intended to serve players in different parts of the world, BetBaller can be viewed in multiple language versions. The languages available include English, Chinese, Turkish, Spanish, Italian, Russian, and French.

BetBaller Customer Support

If you need to contact BetBaller for inquiries, assistance, or other concerns, you can send an email to support@betballer.com. You may also contact BetBaller by telephone. The number to dial is +353 1 2542372. Also, you can use the live chat support. Just click on the live chat button on the lower right corner of the site. The live chat facility is not online all of the time, though. When offline, the live chat button becomes a “Leave Us a Message” button that lets you send an email through a form.
Unfortunately, BetBaller does not provide 24/7 customer support. Phone support is only available usually during regular office hours UK time. Live chat support is not always online. You can’t also expect prompt email support response anytime of the day.

BetBaller License, Regulation, and Security

BetBaller is a licensed online gambling operation. It has been granted a license and is regulated by the government of Ireland. The site is owned and operated by Social Gaming Ventures Ltd., which lists the following official address: 155 Sandyford View, Blackglen Road, Sandyford, Dublin.
Security on BetBaller, as claimed on the Terms and Conditions page, is guaranteed using advanced encryption methods. We have not encountered major complaints about the security of this gambling site. We consider it safe to presume in this BetBaller review that accounts and transactions are adequately protected. We particularly like how a password is required when making withdrawals. It would have been better, though, if the site also implements two-factor authentication.

Pros and Cons

  • Does not support anonymous online gambling
